The EU tyre label was introduced for the first time as part of the Energy Efficiency Action Plan. Tyres across the European Union are now labelled with this indicator and provide information on fuel consumption, wet grip and noise levels for each product. The tire label is divided into three different categories, which are measured separately.
The first value on this sticker is fuel efficiency or rolling resistance. The tire can account for up to 20% of fuel consumption. The higher the rolling resistance, the higher the costs. The label shows fuel efficiency classes from A to G, where A is the lowest rolling resistance and G is the highest. There is also a color indicator – from green to red, where green means low fuel consumption and red means high.
The second indicator that can be seen on the sticker is wet grip. It is also measured on a scale from A to G, where A is the shortest braking distance on wet surfaces, and G is the longest. A mark is placed opposite the corresponding value.

The third indicator that can be seen on the labels of European tire markings is the noise level of the tire when driving in decibels. The marking icon is a volume marker with three divisions, where one division means very quiet tires, and three divisions mean very noisy. Next to it is a digital value from 0 dB to 84 dB.
